There are Lanzarote ferries to the neighbouring islands of Fuerteventura and La Graciosa every day of the week at regular intervals throughout the day; a daily ferry to Gran Canaria and then on to Tenerife; and weekly links to Cadiz and Huelva on the peninsula.
Lanzarote Ferries to Fuerteventura
There is a ferry route between Playa Blanca, at the southern end of Lanzarote and Corralejo on the northern coast of the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura. The route is currently operated by three ferry companies – Naveira Armas who operate 6 times a day, Fred Olsen who operate 6 times a day and Lineas Romeros Maritima who operate four times a day. So there is a total of 16 crossings a day in each direction. The crossing is generally smooth, but on some crossings it can be rough; so there are plenty of sick bags provided!
The Naveira Armas ferry takes 35 minutes to do the crossing; the Fred Olsen Express ferry takes 25 minutes and the Lineas Maritimas Romero ferry takes 45 minutes. The prices do vary between the three companies. Many hire companies do not allow you to take your car to a neighbouring island on a ferry, so if you are planning to do this then please check with your hire company beforehand. For people who are registered as living in the Canary Islands then there is a Residents Discount available. Taking a car will cost extra.
